What is Auction Sniping?

Auction sniping is waiting to place your bid until the final few seconds before an auction ends. In most instances this lets the bidder avoid a bidder war with other buyers. 4. Sellers who find items on ebay that they could resell for profit can also use sniping effectively. They could snipe the auction at the last minute and then turn around and resell it. This also gives you an edge over your competition. I have found this to be a highly profitable addition to my eBay Business.

However sniping manually can be quite difficult and time consuming. The biggest problem with manual sniping is that you must be online when the auction ends. This can become a problem if the auction closes while you are at work. Another big problem is that of your connection speed to the Internet. If you have a slow connection and you place your last second bid, eBay might not receive your bid until after the auction has ended. Nothing is more frustrating than knowing you won an auction, only to find out a little later that you didn't win.
